LAS VEGAS — If you want to glimpse Formula One cars streaking down the Las Vegas Strip for free, there’s no cost to stand on The Venetian’s replica of the Rialto Bridge. Except that particular viewing angle comes with a caveat: The bridge is adjacent to the entrance of the Madame Tussauds Las Vegas wax museum, blaring a promotional video on a loop with various celebrities proclaiming, “I’m getting waxed!” The Venetian didn’t want to block their own grandstand with tarps, so if you get up high enough from a different angle you can see the cars. Lots of people are trying the bridge again this year.

As long as you keep moving, that is. Though some ticket packages for the Las Vegas Grand Prix rival the most expensive in motorsports history, the nature of holding a race in a major tourist area means public sidewalks and pedestrian bridges over the circuit must remain open for foot traffic. Both directions of The Strip itself are closed to vehicles during on-track activity, making the pedestrian routes vital for movement for casino employees and fans.
As a result, some areas of the circuit can be clearly seen without a ticket while walking around. Perhaps somewhat surprisingly, the best free observation spots from 2023’s inaugural race are pretty much the same for this edit.
