Image: Facebook/Miss Earth Unlike previous editions, this year’s Miss Earth pageant has more delegates receiving medals for topping auxiliary events, with over a dozen candidates getting recognized throughout the competition season. The Miss Earth pageant awards medals – Gold, Silver, and Bronze – during events prior to the final competition.

The girls are also split into groups – Air, Water, Fire, and Eco – for the activities, resulting in multiple recipients in similar categories. But there were fewer activities mounted this year, considering the shorter pageant season, so there were not that many medals to give away. But at the homestretch of this year’s contest, Cape Verde’s Jasmine Jorgensen has collected multiple accolades.

She struck silver for finishing second in the talent competition where 30 delegates competed, and also ranked second in the Upcycling Fashion Show for the “Eco” group. She also amassed the highest number of votes for Africa in the poll for “Darling of the Press” among members of the media who attended the presentation show. Here is the complete medal tally: Best Philippine Heritage Attire: Gold – USA, Bea Millan-Windorski Silver – Dominican Repubic, Tamara Aznar Bronze – Kenya, Faith Wanyama Darling of the Press: Africa – Cape Verde, Jasmine Jorgensen Americas – US Virgin Islands, Brianna McSween Asia & Oceania.
