EDNA — Even while winning in dominant fashion against a district rival, the Edna High School football team focused only on how it could improve in future weeks. The Cowboys scored 49 points and amassed 479 yards of offense against No. 8 Goliad Friday night in a 49-21 victory.
However, all No. 4 Edna (8-0, 4-0) head coach Jimmie Mitchell could think about afterward was his team's three turnovers and 105 yards in penalties. "The further along we get in this deal, we can't keep turning the ball over like that," Mitchell said.
"We can't get those type of penalties. We had like a first-and-30 or something. We can't live like that and survive.
