JANICE'S DREAM DUET BY JORDAN TENNANT JANICE revealed it’s not just the picturesque Scottish countryside she’s a huge fan of - she also loves Calvin Harris. The Livin’ Joy hitmaker is on tour with the Ministry of Sound and performs a string of disco classics including Dreamer and Avicci’s Levels. Janice hailed the lively crowd saying “The audience feels so uplifted”.

But the highlight for her is belting out the Dumfrishire music man’s 2011 hit featuring Rihanna We Found Love. And Janice hopes to some day collaborate with the superstar DJ. She pleaded: “I’ve never crossed paths with Calvin but please call me! We have to do a record together.

“We’ve never met but I love Calvin so much. Janice Robinson wants to work with Calvin Harris. Let’s make it happen.

” Calvin is famed for a series of big tracks including One Kiss, I Need Your Love and Feel So Close. The Scots star took to the stage at Glasgow’s TRNSMT festival last month. The music producer shared the line-up with fellow Scot Gerry Cinnamon and Oasis legend Liam Gallagher.

“My favourite memory was standing at the side of the stage where no one could see. “She knew where I was standing and one day she pointed and sang straight at me. “She just looked at me, smiled and then she would shuffle off with her walk.

“It was just the greatest moment. I’ll treasure it forever.” However, Janice’s meteoric rocket to stardom started to fade and the single mum was forced to take a job in Macy’s department store to support her young daughter.

In her job selling perfume , she recalled a poignant moment when Dreamer was blasted from the department store’s speakers. She said: “I remember standing there and Dreamer came on. I didn’t even know what to feel.

“I was just standing there going, looking around like, that’s me. That’s me. “It was very surreal and the strangest place I’ve heard the song being played.

“I didn’t tell my colleagues about my past in the music industry .” But the song is still a hit three decades later with Janice swapping music videos for a documentary on her incredible journey. And the release will be followed by new music.

On her upcoming projects, Janice said: “I’m working with an amazing documentary filmmaker. “And I can tell you that it’s going to take you on the journey of my life through music, motherhood, teaching and all the difficult, complicated obstacles that come with being a black woman in the music industry. “You’re going to see all the ups and downs.

” She added: “I’m also working on new music including a soundtrack for the documentary and a new dance album. “The record is full of personal songs I wrote on my piano because that’s where I started. “I’m going to be revealing a very vulnerable side of me.
