When it comes to autumn, the Cayuga County area is always ready for the occasion. The region is dressed with changing foliage and loaded up with seasonal food and beverage favorites.

For many, the flavor most synonymous with fall is pumpkin. Whether it's the gourd itself or the spices it's inseparable from, pumpkin can be found in not just pies but rolls, lattes, teas, beers and more. On our Facebook page, @auburncitizen , The Citizen asked readers to share their favorite locally made pumpkin foods and beverages.

Here's who they lit up for: Pumpkin Spice Matcha by 3 Leaf Tea in Auburn. Luciana Torous, the owner of this Auburn cafe , was drawn to matcha because of its calming effects. That makes the finely powdered green tea perfect for the cooling temperatures of fall, and she infuses it with a variety of flavors that include pumpkin spice.

Imported directly from Shizuoka, Japan, it's infused in a way that the spices "complement, not overpower" the rich tea base. The result is "robust, aromatic and warm," she said on 3 Leaf's website. The cafe's pumpkin spice matcha is available hot or cold, or by the bag to make at home.
