Over the weekend, thousands of sneakerheads woke up early to try and buy Comme des Garçons' Nike Air Max TL 2.5 ‘Black. ’ First shown on the runways of Paris Fashion Week back in January, trainer guys waited nine months for this.

And naturally, when a collab is this hyped, it's going to sell out. Which is what happened – and that's why alternatives like the Nike Air Max TL 2.5 ‘Black’ exist.

From a distance, this AMTL 2.5 looks almost identical to the Comme des Garçons edition. Working on top of a tightly-knit mesh base, it's overlaid by leather panels across the sidewalls.

Perforated detailing hits the heel, and the midsole is infused with Nike 's Air tech for a bit of extra comfort and bounce. So far, so CDG. The only real here is one big Swoosh.

The ‘Black’ is also covered in reflective ‘Metallic Silver’ accents. Oh, and it's much more affordable too. Because while the Tokyo fashion house's version retailed for a wallet -hitting £270, this one is only about £140.

The Air Max TL 2.5 was first introduced in the 2000s. It was pretty popular back in the day, but after a few months the line was cancelled for reasons unknown.

This re-release marks the first time that the silhouette is making a comeback in two decades, and this is a huge comeback if you're into old school shoes. The Nike Air Max TL 2.5 ‘Black’ will be available within the coming weeks at Nike, the Snkrs app, and select stockist all around the globe.

So if you (like pretty much everyone.
