Dr. StellaRita Awelle Asogwa is a businesswoman with a diverse portfolio spanning beauty, fashion, and food industries. She runs Marcoriano Chinese Restaurant and Zarita Kouture & Academy in Abuja.
She is also a philanthropist committed to empowering women and youths through the StellaRita Awelle Humanitarian Foundation. In this interview with YAQOUB POPOOLA, StellaRita who is also the Convener of the just concluded Zarita Fashion and Arts Fusion shares her experience and expectations in the arts and fashion industry. Excerpts: What informed your passion for fashion and creative arts? I have always been a lover of fashion and creativity and being in the fashion, beauty and food business for almost two decades, I believe it is time to invest in our creative youths to encourage the next generation of fashion and art creatives.
That is how much passion I have for creativity. You are the Convener of Zarita Fashion and Arts Fusion, a programme that showcased and empowered talented fashion and art creatives, how did you come about the entries? We called for the creatives through the social media announcements. Will you say you are satisfied with the government policies and programmes on youth empowerment? There is a recent focus of the government in the area of empowering Nigerians creatives and it is now evidenced in the creation of the Ministry of Art, Culture, and Creative Economy and the government has created the creative economy development fund aimed at providing fin.
