Nicole Scherzinger will be making her Broadway debut next weekend in the musical Sunset Boulevard and she’s opening up about being selected to play Norma Desmond, a character known for being a faded talent. The entertainer is just 46 and while the role has usually been associated with older actresses, Glenn Close was actually 47 when she originated the role on Broadway in 1994. “I can’t say she was flattered — there are many roles Nicole always dreamt of playing, and this was not one of them,” director Jamie Lloyd told Variety .
