Did the NFL referees miss a big call at the end of Sunday evening's Seattle Seahawks vs. New York Giants game? The Giants topped the Seahawks, 29-20, in a wild finish at Lumen Field in Washington on Sunday evening. Seattle had a game-tying field goal attempt with about one minute remaining, but the kick was blocked by New York Giants linebacker Isaiah Simmons, who hurdled over the offensive line to block the field goal attempt by Jason Myers.
The Giants returned the blocked field goal attempt for a touchdown in epic fashion. But did the refs miss a penalty on the final play? NFL on CBS. NFL fans believe that the referees missed a penalty on the Giants, as their linemen were holding the Seahawks' linemen down, allowing Simmons to jump over the longsnapper.
"Every giants player is holding down a Seahawks blocker (this is a penalty and should have resulted in a Seahawks first down)," one fan wrote. "so the Giants are allowed to jump the center but when the raiders did it vs the broncos today it was called a penalty? Lol got it," one fan added. "Had no rooting interest in this game but I’m pretty sure what 93 on the Giants did here is very illegal.
And I will not give @brosenfelder credit for pointing it out," one fan added. "You can not hold the center down. They did.
That’s a penalty and a first down. Refs bail out the giants from blowing the game," one fan added. Doing the Kam Chancellor leap in Seattle to block a field goal and win the game is pretty nuts.
