Lopez filed for divorce on 20 August in the Los Angeles County Superior Court and listed 26 April 2024 as the date of separation, according to TMZ.
Lopez married the actor and filmmaker in July 2022, having first met in 2002 on the set of the crime comedy Gigli. The divorce filing comes after reports that the two have been living separately, Lopez cancelling her summer tour and the couple putting their Beverly Hills home up for sale. Lopez married the actor and filmmaker in July 2022, having first met in 2002 on the set of the crime comedy Gigli . The pair, who earned the nickname Bennifer, subsequently got engaged, but postponed their 2003 wedding and eventually split in 2004, remaining friends.

They had their wedding on 16 July 2022 in Las Vegas. 20 August 2024 marks the second anniversary of the couple's more traditional wedding ceremony in Georgia.
Affleck was previously married to Jennifer Garner from 2005 to 2018, while Lopez was previously married Ojani Noa from 1997 to 1998, Cris Judd from 2001 to 2003 and Marc Anthony from 2004 to 2014. Affleck and Lopez do not share any children together but have five in total from other relationships. When the couple had their Las Vegas wedding, Lopez wrote in a newsletter: "It's a beautiful outcome that this has happened in this way at this time in our lives where we can really appreciate and celebrate each other and respect each other.
" "We have been in the game in the public eye long enough to know who we are as people and what really matters and what doesn't matter," she wrote. Affleck spoke about his rekindled relationship with Lopez in 2021 with The Wall Street Journal: "You know, one of the things I really value across all facets of my life now is that it was handled in a way that reflected that."
