(Image courtesy of Yonhap) SEOUL, Oct. 29 (Korea Bizwire) — “Hype Boy,” a debut single by popular K-pop girl group NewJeans, has garnered over 600 million streams on Spotify, becoming the band’s fourth song to pass the threshold, the group’s agency said Tuesday.

The song had recorded 600,325,617 streams on the world’s largest music streaming platform as of Sunday, ADOR said. Released in August 2022 on the band’s first EP, titled “New Jeans,” “Hype Boy” is one of the band’s mega-hit songs, featuring its refreshing and sophisticated sound that combines the moombahton and electropop genres. The K-pop quintet currently has 13 songs with more than 100 million streams on Spotify, including “OMG” (700 million), “Ditto” (600 million), “Super Shy” (600 million) and “Hype Boy” (600 million).
