Tuesday, August 20, 2024 Meerut South to Sahibabad train service launches, featuring a modern, accessible station with enhanced security, parking, and cab facilities for a seamless journey The train departs from Meerut South and will operate up to Sahibabad. This service is complemented by a state-of-the-art railway station designed with accessibility in mind, featuring advanced security measures, parking, and cab services. The inaugural Namo Bharat rapid rail service will begin at 6 am from Meerut South.

This train promises to significantly reduce travel time for Meerut residents, operating at speeds of up to 160 km/h. Future plans include the addition of more stations beyond Meerut South, with construction already in progress. The highly anticipated Meerut South RRTS (Regional Rapid Transit System) station officially opened its doors on Sunday.



Passengers expressed excitement as the new extension allows them to reach Sahibabad from Meerut in just 30 minutes. Many women regarded this development as a special Raksha Bandhan gift, while others celebrated it as a significant milestone for the city. For many women, this rapid rail service was a cherished Raksha Bandhan gift.

The journey commenced at 4:29 pm, with stops at Modinagar North at 4:34 pm, Murad Nagar at 4:45 pm, Duhai around 4:48 pm, Raj Nagar at 4:51 pm, Ghaziabad at 4:55 pm, and finally Sahibabad at 5 pm. The entire trip took only 30 minutes. The train is expected to reach speeds of up to 160 kilometres per hour.
