A new gift shop is set to open in Exeter, replacing a popular patisserie. It will be the latest business to join the city's independent shopping district, which is currently undergoing a shake-up. A large shop unit on Fore Street in the city centre has been repainted and is now displaying a sign for a new shop called Clumzy.
On its Facebook page, it says the store will be a "cultural" gift shop, as well as selling home decor and collectibles. The site was previously occupied by patisserie and chocolate shop Truffle Hounds until it closed in September . Ahead of the closure, owner Ollie Meyer said that the business had faced rising costs and that he was "in general just very tired".
In posts on the shop's social media pages, he said: "This is a one month warning that we are going to be closing our doors, for now at least.
