FANS of Peppa Pig will have to slow down the pep in their step for a little while longer as they wait for a Peppa Pig theme park to open. The US park opening has been delayed, but little lovers of the long-running children's show will enjoy big attractions soon enough. THE FUN WILL HAVE TO WAIT Merlin Entertainment has announced that the Peppa Pig Theme Park, which was slated to open in Texas this year, has been postponed until 2025, according to Plane Attractions .

The park, which will be the second of its kind to open in the US, is being constructed near Fort Worth, in the town of North Richland Hills. Created with small children in mind, the park will be home to plenty of interactive attractions. Various rides, themed playscapes, and water play areas are also in the works.



Read more in theme park ROLL WITH IT The whole family will especially be able to get in on the fun with their DaddyPig’s Roller Coaster. The thrill ride is meant for junior visitors who will enjoy twists and turns while cruising at speeds up to 16 miles per hour. Recognizable characters from the popular show will also come to life in live daily shows.

To add to the fun, spectacles will even placed on “instantly recognizable locations." More information on the exact opening, as well as tickets and packages, will be made public soon.

Merlin holds a multi-territory licensing agreement with Hasbro over the use of the cartoon brand, with the operator holding rights to build and operate attractions. There are even international Peppa Pig parks open in Britain, Germany, and Italy - Peppa is a British show, after all. MORE PARKS TO COME And the Peppa-themed attractions won't be the only park to come to Texas.

A Universal Kids Resort is slated to open the following year, in 2026. This will be Universal’s first-ever park designed for families with young children. The space will feature lands focused on various themes of the brand.
