Now, she hopes to be a stabilizing force in the town government after a tumultuous period. Previously the confidential secretary to former Supervisor Jaime Puccioni, Cassady-Dorion will now fill the remaining 16 months of Puccioni’s second term, which she vacated when she resigned on Aug. 14.

Cassady-Dorion said it was meaningful to receive unanimous support from the four-person board, with the sole Republican Jason Moskowitz joining Democratic members Jessica Brenna, John Della Ratta and Bill McPartlon in supporting her appointment. “I know that things can get very tricky politically and it was very heartwarming that he [Moskowitz] saw things the same way that we all did, which is that we all just need to find solutions together,” Cassady-Dorion said following Tuesday's Town Board meeting. The new town leader holds a master’s in business administration from The College of Saint Rose and an advanced graduate certificate in school district building leadership from the University at Albany.



Cassady-Dorion, who was hired as confidential secretary in January, has volunteered for the town as a Niska-Day Parade co-chair, a member of the town’s comprehensive plan committee and Birchwood Elementary School PTO President from 2016 to 2018. She worked in the private sector as the director of sales for the Hats & Ladders educational platform.
