The new Fortnite season has brought several amazing additions. From a Marvel-themed Battle Pass to new items and map changes, players have a lot to explore over the next few months. On top of this, Epic Games updated Medallions with the release of Season 4.

Considering how important this feature is, it’s no surprise that it’s received a lot of attention. In Season 4, Epic added three new Fortnite Medallions . Once again, they can be obtained by eliminating bosses on the island, but unfortunately, one of them may not be worth it.

Many Fortnite players consider a new Medallion worthless, and it will be interesting to see if Epic will buff it with one of the future updates. Is the new Fortnite Medallion useless? In the new season, you can gain siphon and invisibility with Medallions. On top of this, you can also reveal enemies if you eliminate Emma Frost at The Raft and pick up her shiny emblem.

While invisibility sounds amazing, even overpowered, the truth is that it’s far from it. Due to this, it’s no surprise that many Fortnite players complained about it on Reddit . “This has to be the most useless mythic of all time,” user Chaos_unknown5 posted about Mysterio’s Medallion.

The post gained hundreds of comments within the first 24 hours, with many players agreeing. “Fortnite invisibility isn’t even close to real invisibility,” they explained. To make things worse, picking up the Medallion reveals your location to enemies, which doesn’t make a lot of sense.

The only way to get this Fortnite Medallion is to beat Mysterio, a boss at Doomstadt. During the fight, the boss makes clones of himself, and this is what the Medallion should do as well, King_Buliwyf believes. “The Medallion should’ve made an NPC double of you that seeks out enemies but doesn’t do damage.

So it can be used as a decoy,” the Reddit user suggested. User DamnHare thinks that the Medallion should grant invisibility while moving and running as well. However, crouching to activate it is just a bad idea.

“The worst thing about the medallion is that it cancels you out of whatever you were doing when it activates,” ForlornPenguin posted another negative thing about it. While most Fortnite players agree that Mysterio’s Medallion is useless, some of them have found it to be useful. Despite not granting full invisibility, the Medallion can be used to sneak up on enemies.

In addition to this, it’s decent in Duos, Trios, and Squads, as it’s great for reviving teammates. Considering that Mysterio’s Medallion isn’t as strong as the other two, it won’t be surprising if Epic Games buffs it with the next update. Since we are still in the first week of the new Fortnite season, we expect more balance changes to come out soon.
