Monday, August 5, 2024 South Lodge, a charming country house hotel, is delighted to unveil The Reeds, a collection of eight lakeside lodges nestled within the estate’s expansive 93-acre grounds in the scenic West Sussex countryside. These lodges, inspired by biophilic architectural principles and named after the lakeside flora and fauna, offer guests a chance to reconnect with nature and experience its healing properties. The six lakeside lodges, situated along the edge of South Lodge’s natural swimming lake and accessed via a picturesque woodland trail, boast two bedrooms, an open-plan living area, and an array of modern amenities.

With fully glazed double-height ceilings, each lodge seamlessly blends indoor and outdoor spaces, offering stunning views from private terraces that flood the interior with natural light, fostering a deep connection with the surrounding environment. Set slightly back from the lake, the two spa lodges are designed for relaxation and rejuvenation, making them ideal for couples seeking a serene escape in the Sussex countryside. These lodges feature luxurious amenities such as steam showers, outdoor whirlpool baths, and infrared halotherapy saunas, all aimed at enhancing well-being through improved sleep, detoxification, and relief from muscle and joint pain.

Crafted using materials that reflect the natural beauty of the West Sussex landscape, the lodges integrate elements of the outdoors into their design, creating a tranquil and soothing atmosphere. In line with Exclusive Collection’s commitment to sustainability as a B Corp-certified organization, the lodges are constructed using innovative, upcycled, locally sourced, or naturally derived materials that honor the surrounding ecosystem. “We are incredibly proud to open The Reeds at South Lodge,” said Danny Pecorelli, Managing Director of Exclusive Collection .

“Our aim is to provide guests with a luxurious yet sustainable retreat in line with our B Corp certification, where they can relax, rejuvenate and connect with the stunning natural surroundings of West Sussex.” Adding a unique touch of artistic heritage and natural beauty, the lake at The Reeds will feature water lilies sourced exclusively from Monet’s famous garden in Giverny. This will be the only location outside France to display these lilies, symbolizing peace and purity, and offering guests a reflective and serene experience in the heart of nature.

To fully embrace the area’s natural beauty, The Reeds offers guided wild swimming sessions in the lake, providing guests with an opportunity to experience the rejuvenating power of nature firsthand. Guests staying in the lodges will also enjoy access to South Lodge’s award-winning facilities, including its expansive 44,000 sq. ft.
