The Vanderbilt Commodores beat an AP No. 1 team for the first time in program history with their 40-35 win over the Alabama Crimson Tide. It was also the first time Vanderbilt beat a top-five team in program history.

Commodores' fans rushed the field at FirstBank Stadium and ended up tearing down one of the goalposts and throwing it in the Cumberland River after taking it through the Broadway section of downtown Nashville. Fans usually act accordingly when a significant milestone happens in college football. New night vision footage from a police helicopter showcased the goalpost's last moments before being tossed into the Cumberland River via Christopher Owen on X.

Since Owen posted it on Oct. 7, the video has gone viral, with over five million views. Multiple Vanderbilt fans tumbled over the ledge by the river in a hilarious fashion, and some fans even landed on each other.
