New bus services on two key routes in Merthyr Tydfil have just been announced. Merthyr Tydfil Council has confirmed that new services on routes serving Galon Uchaf and Gurnos will be introduced in August thanks to funding from Welsh Government and the Cardiff Capital Region. The authority said it has successfully applied for additional bus network funding from Welsh Government and the Cardiff Capital Region to support additional services on two of its key local routes.

From Monday, August 4, service 33 serving Galon Uchaf will include an earlier service and two later ones, with the last one leaving the bus station at 7.05pm. Service 27, which serves Prince Charles Hospital and Gurnos, will have an increased frequency of a bus every 15 minutes as opposed to the current service every 20 minutes.
