This effort is part of the second phase of the Assam Tea Tourism Development Scheme, which is designed to elevate Assam as a premier destination for tea tourism, showcasing its unique heritage to the world. Tourism Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah, who took the lead in distributing the sanction letters, underscored the scheme’s crucial role in promoting Assam’s tea culture on a global platform.
“Today, I had the pleasure of distributing sanction letters to 34 selected tea gardens under Phase II of the Assam Tea Tourism Development Scheme,” he announced on X. Mallabaruah expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative, describing it as a pivotal move to transform Assam’s rich tea heritage into a world-class tourism experience.
