On August 14, 2024, Delta Air Lines announced the launch of a new nonstop service from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) to San Antonio International Airport (SAT).

This new route will begin operations on November 11, 2024, and will be offered daily throughout the year. The service is expected to strengthen the connectivity between these two significant cities, enhancing business and leisure travel opportunities. Jesus Saenz, Director of Airports at the City of San Antonio Aviation Department, emphasized the significance of Delta’s presence at SAT, noting a 20% increase in departing seats compared to pre-pandemic levels.



This expansion marks Boston as Delta’s seventh destination from San Antonio, further solidifying the airline’s commitment to growing its network. AirAsia declared on August 14, 2024, that it will be launching a new route connecting Kuala Lumpur to Port Blair, India, starting on November 16, 2024. This service will operate three times a week, making AirAsia the first ASEAN carrier to provide international flights to and from Port Blair.

This route marks AirAsia’s 17th connection to India, further strengthening its footprint in the Indian market. The introduction of this route is expected to enhance travel and tourism between Malaysia and India, providing more options for travelers and boosting economic ties. Cebu Pacific, the Philippines’ leading low-cost carrier, announced on August 14, 2024, the launch of a new domestic route from Clark International Airport (CRK) to Tagbilaran, the capital of the province of Bohol.

Starting October 27, 2024, this daily service will mark Cebu Pacific’s seventh domestic destination from Clark. This new route is part of the airline’s broader strategy to enhance regional connectivity in the Philippines, providing more travel options for both local residents and tourists. This expansion also aligns with the government’s push to decentralize air traffic from Manila and promote other regional hubs.

On August 14, 2024, LOT Polish Airlines announced the introduction of a new direct route connecting Warsaw Frederic Chopin Airport (WAW) and Tenerife Sur Airport (TFS). The service, scheduled to commence on November 27, 2024, will operate three times a week on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. This route, utilizing Boeing 737-8 aircraft, aims to cater to the increasing demand for travel between Poland and the Canary Islands, particularly during the winter season.

The addition of this route enhances LOT’s presence in the Spanish market and offers Polish travelers direct access to one of Europe’s most popular tourist destinations. Air India Express Air India Express has unveiled six new daily flights, further solidifying its commitment to expanding its domestic network. The new routes include two from Kolkata, three from Chennai, and the airline’s inaugural direct flight connecting Guwahati and Jaipur.

Specifically, the newly launched flights will operate on the Chennai-Bhubaneswar, Chennai-Bagdogra, Chennai-Thiruvananthapuram, Kolkata-Varanasi, Kolkata-Guwahati, and Guwahati-Jaipur routes, introducing five additional connections to the airline’s growing network. The Kolkata-Varanasi flight departs daily at 7:40 am, with a return at 9:40 am, while the Kolkata-Guwahati flight departs at 12:10 pm, returning at 1:55 pm daily. Additionally, the frequency of the Chennai-Thiruvananthapuram route has been increased from two weekly flights to a daily service, offering nine flights per week.

With a fleet of 82 aircraft, including 54 Boeing 737s and 28 Airbus A320s, Air India Express now operates over 380 daily flights, underscoring its ongoing commitment to enhancing connectivity across India. AirAsia AirAsia is expanding its network to India with the introduction of a new route from Malaysia to Port Blair, Andaman Islands, marking a significant milestone as the first airline to offer international flights to Port Blair within the ASEAN region. Starting on 16 November 2024, AirAsia will operate three weekly flights to this picturesque island, making it the airline’s 17th destination in India.

This new route, AirAsia’s shortest to India, reinforces its position as a top low-cost carrier in the region. With the addition of Port Blair, AirAsia now connects to various cities across India, including Chennai and Amritsar, with a total of 91 flights per week. In 2024 alone, the airline has launched eight new routes to India, further strengthening its presence in the country.

Port Blair, located in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, offers travelers unspoiled beaches, vibrant marine life, and unique cultural experiences. To celebrate the launch, AirAsia is offering promotional fares from Kuala Lumpur to Port Blair starting at RM199 one way, available for booking until 19 August 2024 for travel between 16 November 2024 and 25 October 2025. Additionally, Malaysians can enjoy visa-free entry to India for up to 30 days until 30 June 2025.
