Tuesday, January 28, 2025 The Nevis Tourism Authority made a remarkable impression at the Brown Folks Connect media reception, hosted at the Freehand Hotel in Manhattan. The event brought together nearly 200 media professionals and was led by Nevis’ Ambassador for Diversity, Candi Carter, alongside esteemed media figures Vladimir Duthiers, Kendis Gibson, and Cameron Jones. Adding to the evening’s significance, Phéon Jones, the Director of Sales and Marketing for the Nevis Tourism Authority, attended as the guest of honor.
One of the standout moments was a special video message from the Honorable Mark Brantley, Premier of Nevis. In his speech, Premier Brantley passionately highlighted Nevis’ unique charm as a travel destination, emphasizing its deep historical connections to iconic American figures, including founding father Alexander Hamilton and legendary actress Cicely Tyson, whose roots trace back to the island. An exciting highlight of the event was a door prize won by CBS News National Consumer Correspondent Ash-har Quraishi, who received an all-expenses-paid trip to Nevis, adding an extra layer of excitement to an already memorable evening.
