Thursday, August 29, 2024 The Network of Indian MICE Agents (NIMA), a key player in the Indian MICE industry, has announced that 2025 will be celebrated as the “Year of MICE Tourism” across the country. This declaration coincides with NIMA’s 10th anniversary, marking a decade of dedicated service in promoting Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) tourism in India. The year-long initiative will feature various events and activities from Raipur to Ranchi, Madurai to Mohali, and Agra to Amritsar, aimed at boosting MICE tourism across India.

In addition to this announcement, NIMA has also declared June 21 as “World MICE Tourism Day.” This date, which marks the summer solstice in the Northern Hemisphere, symbolizes the peak of the travel and event season globally. It is a fitting time to recognize and celebrate the significance of the MICE industry, which plays a crucial role in driving tourism and economic growth.



During NIMA’s 10th-anniversary celebration event held in Delhi on August 28, various leaders of the association spoke about the importance of 2025 as the “Year of MICE Tourism.” Vikas Khanduri, Advisor of NIMA, emphasized the significance of this initiative for the industry. Dr.

Nitin Mittal highlighted NIMA’s efforts in education and training, while Gurmeet Chhatwal discussed the association’s growing presence in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. Jyoti Monga has been tasked with expanding NIMA’s reach internationally, and Rajiv Chawla outlined plans to enhance NIMA’s presence across all states in India. Sanjay Sharma focused on the importance of corporate MICE business standards and procedures for MICE operators.

NIMA, founded by Gajesh Girdhar, who continues to lead the association, has grown into a robust network with a National Executive Committee composed of active MICE operators and SMEs from major metropolitan areas like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata, as well as Tier II and III cities like Hyderabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneshwar, and smaller towns such as Yamuna Nagar and Tirupati. As NIMA celebrates its 10th anniversary, it remains committed to advancing the Indian MICE industry, ensuring that it continues to thrive and grow on both national and international stages..
