As seen in a viral video, Asif stepped forward to confer the award on Ramesh Narayan, who had rendered music for an anthology closely supervised by Jayaraj. Yet, in an unexpected turn of events, Ramesh rejected the award, leaving many astonished. As a result, Jayarajan, albeit reluctant initially, complied by bestowing the award upon Ramesh. An X user reacted to this video wasn’t pleasant, criticising Ramesh’s reluctance to receive the award from #AsifAli, stating, “It was rather improper of Ramesh to decline the award from him. Despite being disregarded, Asif remained in good spirits (sic).
