A street in Bolton has been blighted by fly-tipping for more than a year despite repeated complaints, residents say. People living on Longfield Road in Daubhill say that the area has frequently been strewn with rubbish and abandoned furniture. This has sparked alarm, particularly among parents of young children and teenagers.

A father-of-two said: “It’s been like this for over a year now, it’s getting really bad. “I’ve rung the council and I’m a taxpayer, so I’d like the backstreets to be clean.” Parents have been worried about the effects on their children (Image: Public) He said that he and several of his neighbours on Longfield Road had been especially concerned about the effects on their children as they go to and from school.



He said: “Every day when they go to school, it's just not nice for them or for any of us.” He added: “The neighbours have kids as well and they have the same problem. “It’s horrible, it's going all the way down to the shops nearby.

The father-of-two said: “I just that I pay my council tax and I should be able to enjoy my time at home. “I can smell it from my garden so I can’t even stand there because of the smell and it’s the same for the neighbours as well.
