Sachin Kurmi alias Munna, associated with the Ajit Pawar-led NCP, was stabbed to death by unidentified attackers early on Saturday in Byculla (E). NEW DELHI: The Byculla police , on Sunday, apprehended three men in connection with the murder of Sachin Kurmi , a leader of the Ajit Pawar faction , in Mumbai's Byculla area. The accused, identified as Anand Ashok Kale (39), Prafulla Pravin Patkar (26), and Vijay Dyaneshwar Kakade (34), allegedly committed the crime due to a long-standing dispute, according to the Mumbai police .
Sachin Kurmi, also known as Munna, a 46-year-old member of the Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party ( NCP ), was fatally stabbed by unknown assailants in the early hours of Saturday in the Ghudapdev area of Byculla (E). The incident occurred just a short distance from his home. Kurmi held the position of taluka president for the NCP in the Byculla Vidhan Sabha constituency.
According to a source at the Byculla police station, authorities were alerted about an injured person near Anant Pawar Lane. Kurmi was immediately transported to JJ Hospital, where medical professionals pronounced him dead upon arrival. A police officer stated, "The attackers had used a sharp object to attack Kurmi.
There were more than 10 stab injuries on his body.".
