Navratri, also called Sharad Navratri, is a vibrant and lively festival celebrated by the Hindu community. Navratri 2024 is from October 3–12. It is devoted to Goddess Durga.

On each day of the nine-day-long festival, a divine incarnation of Goddess Durga is worshipped. Devotees spend time worshipping Goddess Durga and her avatars; they offer prayers and visit temples to seek her blessings. The streets come alive with music, vibrancy and dance during the festival.

It is celebrated with many traditions, customs and rituals, including the use of colours. Certain colours have their own significance. They are linked with a particular day and associated with a goddess.

Today, Sunday, October 6, is the fourth day of Navratri. The day is devoted to Goddess Kushamanda. The colour for day 4 of Navratri 2024 is orange and the colour symbolises warmth, energy and enthusiasm.
