Pune: An MSRTC bus passenger died and seven others were injured after the bus hit a truck on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway near Kamshet around 3 am on Saturday. Ramesh Chopade, additional superintendent of police of Pune rural, said, "The deceased passenger was identified as Vishwas Bhagwan Waghmare (43) of Kopar Khairane in Navi Mumbai. In the accident, the bus driver and six other passengers, including a woman, sustained injuries.
" The bus was going to Mumbai from Pathardi, Ahmednagar. The injured were admitted to hospitals in Urse and Lonavla. Two other accidents occurred near the Kamshet tunnel.
A man travelling in a tempo carrying custard apples to Mumbai died after the tempo turned on its side in the tunnel around 3.15 pm on Saturday. A truck carrying hens to Mumbai hit another vehicle near the tunnel, killijng the man in the truck.
