Prayagraj: The National Space Day was celebrated at the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad, at its Jhalwa campus on Friday. The event started in the morning and was attended by hundreds of PhD and MTech students in the administrative block auditorium. Students and faculty members attended the live-streamed event from Bharat Mandapam, where the President of India , Droupadi Murmu, addressed the nation.

Later, a scientist at Flight Dynamics Operations, ISTRAC, ISRO Bangalore, and also the Associate Project Director, Chandrayaan 4, Vineet Srivastava, spoke on the recent milestones achieved by ISRO. The officiating director of IIITA, Prof OP Vyas, highlighted the importance of the maiden Space Day in the country. Prof Pavan Chakarborty said that we were all proud when Chandrayaan-3 module safely landed on the south pole of the moon.

Director Prof. Rajiv Prakash awarded prizes and encouraged students to excel in space science. Participants included students from DPS Durg, JNV Durg, DWPS Raipur, and KPS Raipur.
