Are you aware that so many people have broken down due to stress? Do you know that without relaxation one cannot achieve much in life? Relaxation is indeed the key to success. A relaxed mind is a peaceful mind and a peaceful mind is a successful mind. Considering the importance of Rest and Relaxation, August 15th has been declared National Relaxation Day.

National Relaxation Day is a day of rest and relaxation. It is a day set aside to reflect on the importance of rest and relaxation. It is also a day when people are encouraged to take a break from the hustles and bustles of daily life.

Relaxation promotes self-care, calmness and tranquility. The Bible offers so many reasons why we must relax. God does not want His children to break down.

Even God Himself rested after creating the world. The book of Genesis 2:2-3 clearly stated “On the seventh day God finished His work that he had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all his work that he had done.” God not only rested on the Seventh Day He went further to declare the Seventh Day a day of Rest! In Exodus 20:8-11, the Lord God declares, “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.

Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work..

.” The Seventh Day is therefore a day of Relaxation! Relaxation is the portion of those who hope in the Lord God. The book of Isaiah 4:28-31 declares, “Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God.

.. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.

He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength..

.” If you are a child of God you will never grow weary. Your strength will be renewed through relaxation.

The Bible presents our Lord Jesus Christ as the prince of Peace and the channel of Rest and Inner Peace. In Mark 6:31 Jesus is presented as the Most caring Master the world has ever known. As many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to his disciples, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.

” Jesus offers his disciples a break for them to relax! In the gospel of Matthew 11:28-29, Jesus declares, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” If you are tired and wearied, come to Jesus and you will find rest and inner peace.

Relaxation enhances Mental Health. It calms the mind. It improves mental health.

It reduces stress and anxiety. It guarantees a more restful and rejuvenating sleep. Relaxation strengthens the Immune System and reduces High Blood Pressure.

Above all, Relaxation enhances our prayer life. Through Relaxation, we are able to recollect our mental and spiritual senses. Through meditation, we become more focused and more attentive to God.

We contemplate the Beauty and Greatness of our Immortal and Invisible God, through whom we derive rest and inner peace. As you take a break to rest, I wish you Happy National Relaxation Day!.
