Steven Galcsik, 47, allegedly ran over his wife Natalie, 46, with a car at their Pokolbin home - where they ran a luxury accommodation business - in NSW 's Hunter Valley region, just after 6pm on Friday. A family member called emergency services, but despite their best efforts, Ms Galcsik died at the scene.
Detectives are reportedly investigating how many times Ms Galcsik was allegedly struck. Mr Galcsik was arrested and remanded in custody. He was formally refused bail at Newcastle Local Court on Saturday.
The couple were the owners of Unlax @ Hunter Valley, a boutique four-star bed-and-breakfast, featuring self-contained cottages for hire in the heart of the state's wine country. Rooms at the rustic property start at $398-a-night, with guests offered '360 degrees views of natural bushland and native wildlife'. They had business for seven years after buying the 40 hectare property for $1.
