Wednesday, January 8, 2025 In 2024, Nassau Cruise Port (NCP) achieved a remarkable milestone, surpassing its previous passenger record by welcoming 5.6 million cruise passengers. This marks the second consecutive year of growth, with the port having experienced substantial expansion following its $300 million revitalization project completed in 2023.

The port’s development includes a range of new facilities such as a state-of-the-art terminal building, a Junkanoo museum, event spaces, a 3,500-seat amphitheater, a living coral exhibit, and new food and beverage options, significantly enhancing the visitor experience. Record-Breaking Growth The impressive passenger count for 2024 demonstrates a clear upward trajectory in the port’s performance. In comparison to 2023, when 4.



4 million passengers visited the port, the 2024 figures represent a substantial increase. This growth is part of a larger trend in The Bahamas, with the nation as a whole welcoming approximately 9.1 million visitors in 2024.

Of these visitors, about 61 percent, or 5.6 million, arrived via cruise ships docking at Nassau Cruise Port. This growth trajectory indicates that Nassau Cruise Port has become a central hub for tourism in the region, contributing directly to The Bahamas’ tourism industry.

The increase in cruise passengers has been linked to a surge in the Bahamian economy, with tourism revenues reaching approximately $2.6 billion annually. This economic boom has a ripple effect on numerous sectors.
