Arshad Warsi’s offhand remarks about Prabhas’ performance in Kalki 2898 AD have ignited quite the uproar among fans and stars alike. After a wave of criticism from Sudheer Babu and director Ajay Bhupathi, actor Nani has now jumped into the fray with some scathing wit of his own. During a press conference for his latest film Saripodhaa Sanivaaram, Nani was asked about Arshad’s comments.

Without missing a beat, the actor implied that Arshad’s critique was nothing more than a desperate bid for relevance. “The person that you’re referring to, this must be the most publicity he has got in his life. You are unnecessarily glorifying an unimportant matter,” Nani quipped, turning the question into a comedic dismissal.

See what #Nani said you(media) are glorifying it & giving biggest publicity to actor who commented He did not criticized work of Arshad sir or the industry he simply said don't unnecessarily prolong the topic SM toxicity may mislead this for engagements pic.twitter.com/e93HY97edj — VBS waiting for saripodhaa sanivaaram (@VBS1829) August 21, 2024 It all began when Arshad, in a chat on Unfiltered by Samdish, had bluntly called Prabhas “like a joker” in Kalki 2898 AD.

He lamented, “I am really sad. Prabhas was like a joker. I want to see a Mad Max.

I want to see Mel Gibson over there. Tumne usko kya bana dia yaar. Kyu karte ho aisa? Mujhe nahin samajh mein aata (What have you made of it? Why do they do such things? I never understand).

” A post shared by Unfiltered By Samdish (@unfiltered_bysamdish) Unsurprisingly, Prabhas’ legion of loyal fans, along with several Telugu film industry figures, didn’t take kindly to Arshad’s words. Director Ajay Bhupathi fired back with a searing response, stating, “Prabhas is the man who has given everything to take Indian cinema to the world audience. We can see the jealousy in your eyes just because you’ve faded out.

There’s a limit and a way to express your opinion...

Seems like you’re the one who fits what you said about him.” Sudheer Babu chimed in too, reminding everyone that criticism should be constructive, not petty. “Prabhas’ stature is too big for comments coming from small minds,” he said.

With Kalki 2898 AD breaking box office records and cementing Prabhas as one of the biggest stars in Indian cinema, it seems like Arshad’s critique did little more than stir a pot no one wanted cooked. Nani’s cutting yet humorous jab about Arshad’s newfound “publicity” might just be the final nail in the coffin of this unnecessary controversy..
