Dina Namubes, mayor of the coastal Namibian town of Swakopmund , expressed her admiration for Moscow's digital development during the BRICS Urban Future Forum in Moscow. In an interview with Sputnik Africa, she highlighted the city's green spaces, accessible transportation, and advanced infrastructure as key aspects that could inspire similar transformations in Namibia. She also praised Moscow's commitment to creating public spaces, stating, "There are so many beautiful parks and green spaces.

These are the things that we really want to take back to our countries." Namubes acknowledged the rapid pace of urbanization across Africa and stressed the need for global collaboration to address the challenges it presents. The Namibian mayor sees the BRICS+ forum, which brings together the ten BRICS members and their partners, as a valuable platform for networking, cooperation and knowledge sharing.
