Nam Joo-hyuk has officially finished his mandatory military service, much to the excitement of his fans. The actor, who enlisted in March 2023 as part of his duties as a conscripted police officer, has long been missed by his audience. Known for his standout roles in series like Twenty-Five, Twenty-One and Start-Up, fans have been eagerly awaiting his next on-screen appearance.

On September 19, Nam Joo-hyuk was officially discharged from military duty. He was met with enthusiastic cheers and warm smiles from his fans as he exited the base. Supporters greeted him with gifts and flowers, celebrating his return to civilian life.

Now, speculation has been growing about his next project. Nam Joo-hyuk, who entered the acting scene in 2014 with Surplus Princess, has gained immense popularity through a variety of roles. From portraying a fun-loving athlete in Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo to a struggling journalist in The Light in Your Eyes, he has consistently shown his versatility.

His most recent projects, Start-Up and Twenty-Five, Twenty-One, were huge international successes. His foray into the action genre came with the 2023 drama Vigilante. In this series, Nam Joo-hyuk portrayed Kim Ji-Yong, a police academy student who turns vigilante to deliver his own brand of justice.

The series, which aired on Disney Plus, showed the actor’s range and introduced him to a new genre. According to Allkpop, as of June 25, reports surfaced that Nam Joo-hyuk is in talks to join the cast of Donggung, a highly anticipated fantasy K-drama. His agency, Management SOOP, confirmed to XSports News that the role is being considered, though nothing has been finalised yet.
