Saturday, November 30, 2024 Nagaland is gearing up to host the 25th edition of its iconic Hornbill Festival , starting from December 1, 2024 , coinciding with the statehood day celebrations in Kohima. The festival, a ten-day cultural event designed to highlight and preserve Naga traditions, has evolved into a platform for showcasing the region’s rich heritage and fostering global connections. Featuring partnerships with countries like the USA , UK (Wales) , Japan , and Peru , along with India’s Sikkim and Telangana as partner states, this year’s edition promises to enhance its international appeal.

Often referred to as the “Festival of Festivals,” the Hornbill Festival is a melting pot of traditional Naga culture and modern collaborations. The event is held annually at the Naga Heritage Village Kisama , located 12 kilometers from Kohima. It serves as a culmination of numerous tribal festivals tied to the agricultural calendar of Nagaland.
