Ema Shortel is a photographer originally from Edinburgh but now based on the Isle of Skye. She lives the island life with her partner, dogs and many chickens, enjoys getting out into nature and showcasing the best her little corner of the world has to offer. Misty Isle Boat Tour One of the best ways to observe the beauty of Skye is catching the Misty Isle from Elgol over to Coruisk.

Between the stunning views, time to roam over at Coruisk and a wee hot cuppa and a biscuit provided at the end, there’s nothing not to love. If you’re lucky, you’ll get a spy of a dolphin or two on the way over as well! The Coffee Bothy If you’re passing through Skye, The Coffee Bothy is a must stop for refuelling. They have local Skye coffee, homemade cakes and delicious lunch bites that never disappoint.

You’ll often find the owner’s dog Jynx at the door happy to welcome you too, which is always a plus. Isle of Raasay Distillery Whisky Hotel Borodale House is the only whisky distillery where you can stay overnight in the same building as a working distillery. Set in a gorgeous Victorian villa transformed into a whisky hotel offering distillery tours, this is such a little gem for anyone hopping on the ferry over to Raasay.
