Manchester Airport gets very busy during the holidays (Image: Kenny Brown | Manchester Evening News) Every traveller hopes for a smooth journey when visiting the airport. From getting to the location, going through the check-in process, security checks and collecting luggage, the faster it all happens, the better, reports the Manchester Evening News . Mum of two and travel reporter Emma Gill, is usually responsible for keeping her family's passports safe in transit.

She said "I had high hopes that my recent purchase from Tesco would make our trip more seamless. I'm typically the one flipping through the pages to identify each passport before handing them over to my husband and children at crucial moments. "While they are old enough to handle their own passports, they are also prone to misplacing them, which is why I prefer to keep them within reach.

Priced at just £1.60 each, I thought it was worth spending a little extra.

" Despite complaints from her family about whether these covers were necessary, Emma persisted with her plan. It wasn't long, however, before she realised she had made a mistake. By the time we boarded the plane, I had completely given up on them." While they may initially appear to be a time-saving solution, it's evident that they are not. As Emma discovered, they only resulted in further delays.

Emma added: "Their final destination will now be the rubbish bin, perhaps explaining their initial price reduction. From here on out, it's simple passports all the way.".
