Every year, Musikfest comes around to Bethlehem , giving both big-name musicians and relative unknowns an opportunity to take the stage and share their art with close to 1 million festival goers over 11 days. The festival kicked off with a preview night on Aug. 1 and continues through Aug.
11 at venues on both Bethlehem’s northside and the SteelStacks campus on the Southside. Everyone has their own favorite genre when it comes to music and is likely to spectate certain shows that align with their preferred genre. 5 Monday will bring another full schedule of musical acts, and it seems the girls rule in this sampling. One of the youngest Musikfest acts, Julia Miralles began her musical journey last year at the age of 15. Hearing her voice, her young age is shocking.
Anyone who enjoys a classic rock or indie rock sound will enjoy this performance. Her first single “I Am Your Summertime” brought about 14,000 streams, released in 2023. Her second single was released this year, titled “Dream of You.
” She often covers artists in her performances and on her Instagram. She credits Paramore and Fleetwood Mac as her inspirations, and it is apparent in her stunning voice. Music was her escape, Musikfest’s website says, and what drove her to pursue music. She released original music in 2023, and now has 66,700 monthly listeners on Spotify. Her voice is very rich with a beautiful lower register, and it has a uniqueness that many don’t hear in the country music world.
This may be because artists like Adele and Billie Eilish have inspired her. Though she and her band are country, you can find hints of pop and rock in her music.
