COLUMBIA — Live music and eatery Rhythm's Lounge Bar and Grill opened for business on Sept. 13 at its new location on 736 St. Andrews Road.

The reopening also comes with a revamp — including new menu items, a dedicated lounge area and for-sale cigars. Established in 2023 on Bush River Road, CEO Chris Gray founded Rhythm's to meet the growing demand for an entertainment space catered to guests aged 30 to 60. Today, the restaurant is home to live music, sports-viewing, spoken-word poetry and weekend brunch.

"For years and years here in Columbia, I've heard there's not a lot for people in our age group to do — especially more established, more professional people," he said. "We want to provide a place and a safe environment for that type of clientele." 'Not an easy decision:' Columbia's annual Gervais Street Bridge Dinner canceled According to Gray, relocating to St.

Andrews Road, and, specifically, to the 736 lot, was always in his long-term plans. "The building itself is actually the one that we wanted all along," said Gray. "We looked into this building a year and a half ago, but it wasn't available.

When it did become available, we were motivated to make the move." The double-decker space includes a sweeping wooden bar, a nook of couches and a separate dedicated "lounge room" and event space, with tables and a music stage. One of the restaurant's focal points is its outdoor patio, which Gray characterized as "perfect" for their weekly "Cigars and Sundown" event.

"Cigars and Sundown" is also getting an upgrade. While guests previously had to bring their own cigars to the event, the new Rhythm's will cell cigars on premises. More than pumpkin spice: Where to find fall-flavored coffee, beer and cocktails in Columbia "The outdoor smoking and eating space is perfect for 'Cigars and Sundown,'" Gray said.

Now open: Refined, affordable comfort food at West Columbia golf club's public restaurant The Honey Hot wings basket from Rhythm's Lounge Bar and Grill original. Wings are a backbone of the original Rhythm's menu, and one of their most popular flavors is the "Honey Hot," which features a balanced blend of vinegar-based hot sauce and sweet honey. The overall flavor is mild and allows the unctuous wings and crispy skin an opportunity to shine.

Don't skip their extra-crispy, crinkle-cut fries, which have taken a luxurious and extended bath in the frier. "The Vibe," a Rhythm's Lounge Bar and Grill original cocktail. When it comes to the full-service bar at Rhythm's, there's no shortage of classic cocktails available for sale — but, notably "The Vibe" is the restaurant's only original cocktail.

This sweet sip includes Remy Martin or Hennessy cognac, strawberry syrup and cranberry juice. The smoky spirit adds an extra dimension to the liquid candy, and makes it an apt fit for the wide range of savory Rhythm's bar food..
