Directed by Mark Bell, who's work include 'The Play That Goes Wrong,' will be bring the play to Aylesbury Waterside Theatre from October 22 to 26. The show will feature 'Casualty's' Jason Durr as Colonel Mustard and reigning 'Strictly Come Dancing' champion Ellie Leach as Miss Scarlett. The play is based on the Hasbro boardgame, which celebrates its 75th anniversary this year.

Mr Bell said: "One of my favourite things is eavesdropping on people in the interval and I often hear parents and their kids debating about who the murderer is." The director said the challenge of staying true to the spirit of the original board game while bringing something fresh to the production was 'the most fun part.' He said: "I wanted it to be like a Scooby Doo chase sequences set to cool 60's music.



" Mr Bell also stated that his favourite weapon is the spanner, and said: "The one we have is huge and very shiny. "You can, as you will fond out when you see the show, use it in so many different ways for murder." He also believes hiccups during rehearsals can serve a useful purpose, and added: "I have always maintained that often mistakes or things going wrong gives you some of your best material and so it was here.

"There were many, but one example is at one point three of the cast came on and hold old fashioned portraits as if they are hung on the wall. "One actor accidentally brought theirs on upside down. It got a laugh, so it stayed in the show.
