Monday, August 12, 2024 Mumbai Metro 3 Project Nears Completion with Significant Milestones Achieved The Mumbai Metro 3 project has made remarkable progress, with 97% of construction work completed on the first phase, which will link Seepz to the Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC). This update was recently shared by Metro 3 officials on their official social media platform, X (formerly known as Twitter). Current Construction Status of Mumbai Metro 3 The latest developments indicate that the final stages of testing are now in progress.

Electrical systems and other essential infrastructure components are undergoing their last rounds of testing. Station construction has reached a 97% completion rate, and tunneling work has been fully completed. The Fire Brigade department of the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) has successfully conducted inspections of all stations within the first phase.



With 99% of the civil work finished, the project is advancing well. Overall system work is 77.6% complete, with civil works at the depot nearly at 99.

Inauguration Date Pending Announcement The inauguration of the first phase of the Metro 3 project, initially slated for July 24, has been postponed due to ongoing safety checks and certification approvals. Despite previous reports hinting at an imminent launch, the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (MMRCL) has not yet confirmed the operational date for the Aqua Line’s first phase.

Once Phase 1 is operational, it will enable seamless travel between Aarey Colony and BKC. The complete Aqua Line, which will eventually connect Colaba to Seepz, is poised to significantly enhance Mumbai’s public transportation network..
