Wednesday, July 17, 2024 The Hotel And Restaurant Association (Western India) – HRAWI recently organized a comprehensive Food Safety Supervisor Training in Advance Catering (FoSTaC) programme in collaboration with the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). Held at Hotel Le Grande on July 10th, the event saw the participation of 18 hospitality professionals, who were trained by Mr. Praveen Andrews from Parikshan.

This FSSAI initiative is designed to equip professionals with the essential knowledge and skills needed to maintain safe and healthy food practices. The training session was inaugurated by a panel of distinguished guests, including Mr. Praveen Andrews from Parikshan; Mr.



Oscar Pereira, Operations Manager at Hotel Le Grande; Mr. Sadanand Mohanty, Purchase Manager at Hotel Le Grande; Ms. Trupti Pawar, Secretary General of HRAWI; and Ms.

Manasi Parab, Admin Assistant for Training & Seminars at HRAWI. Their presence underscored the importance of the training and the collaborative effort between HRAWI and FSSAI to enhance food safety standards. Participants received in-depth training on various critical aspects of food safety, including handling, preparation, hygiene, sanitation, and waste management.

By covering these key areas, the programme provided attendees with practical skills to implement stringent food safety protocols in their daily operations. HRAWI’s commitment to elevating food safety standards in the hospitality sector is evident, having successfully trained and certified 3,048 professionals through FSSAI’s FoSTaC Training Programme..
