NEW DELHI: A 13-year-old girl was raped in Mumbai's Andheri allegedly by a 21-year-old man whom she met through social media , according to officials. The accused has been arrested by Mumbai police . The accused took the girl to his residence in Andheri, where he allegedly raped her.
He later took her to Gujarat and committed the crime again. Upon returning home after a few days, the girl informed her family about the incidents. The girl shared a picture of the man on Instagram with her family.
Acting on this information, they registered a complaint at the Vakola Police Station. The case against the accused has been registered under sections 4, 8, and 12 of the POCSO Act, which pertains to kidnapping and rape . (The victim's identity has not been revealed to protect her privacy as per Supreme Court directives on cases related to sexual assault).
