Pune: A Mumbai crime branch team on Wednesday arrested three youths and detained one from Pune in connection with the ongoing investigation into former minister Baba Siddique 's murder on Oct 12. "The Mumbai police team intimated us about their action after detaining and taking away the four youths to Mumbai," Pune police commissioner Amitesh Kumar told TOI. Mumbai joint commissioner of police Lakhmi Gautam told TOI, "We detained and brought some people from Pune to question them over their possible role in the crime.

" Late at night, Mumbai police arrested Rupesh Rajendra Mohol (22) of Shivane and Karan Rahul Salve (19) and Shivam Arvind Kohad (20) of Uttamnagar. The fourth suspect is still being questioned. Meanwhile, a senior officer of Pune police told TOI that the four youths were associated with Shubham Lonkar .



Shubham is wanted in the Siddique murder case and is allegedly linked with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang , which is said to be responsible for the crime. The four youths were being investigated for their association with Shubham and their possible roles in the crime. Shubham used to run a dairy business in the Karvenagar area along with his brother, Pravin, who was arrested by the Mumbai crime branch in the case.

"The four youths were close to Shubham. Mumbai police are probing if the four were involved in the murder conspiracy along with the Lonkars," the police officer said. "The four youths were doing odd jobs in Pune city," he added.
