Five people, including two foreign tourists were injured at Mumbai International Airport when an out-of-control Mercedes car struck them, according to the police. The luxury car, which was at the airport to drop off a passenger, veered out of control, causing the incident in the parking lot of Terminal 2, the Sahar police station officer explained. "The car's driver, identified as 34-year-old Parshuram Chincholappa Dadanavre from Navi Mumbai, has been arrested on charges of rash driving and negligence.
The five injured individuals include two foreign nationals are receiving treatment at Nanavati Hospital, while three airport staff members are being treated at Cooper Hospital," the official said. "Initial investigations suggest that Dadanavre mistakenly pressed the accelerator instead of the brake, which caused the Mercedes to surge forward over a speed bump near airport gate number one. The vehicle has been seized as part of the investigation," the officer added.
