Friday, November 29, 2024 Following recent discussions at the Chintan Shibir, the state government has launched a new initiative to install road signage along key tourist routes and highways. The Roads and Buildings (R&B) department will focus on placing multilingual signs every 5 kilometers on both sides of major roads, as outlined by senior officials. On November 26, the R&B department issued a directive to all branch offices, highlighting the project’s immediate importance.

The signage will include directions in Gujarati, Hindi, and English, ensuring clear navigation for both domestic and international travelers. These signs will provide crucial information such as route directions, distance markers, and details on nearby tourist facilities, officials confirmed. The initiative is designed to assist visitors who frequently encounter difficulties finding tourist destinations, especially in rural and semi-urban regions.

The updated signage system will guide travelers to a range of attractions, including heritage sites, religious locations, natural landmarks, and other points of interest throughout the state. The upcoming state budget is expected to allocate extra funds toward the development of tourism infrastructure across the region. Key focus areas include upgrading essential amenities, improving road access, and enhancing facilities at tourist destinations, particularly in smaller towns and villages.

Officials indicate that these investments will help improve the overal.
