Addverb Technologies, a Noida-based robotics firm backed by Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries, is set to put India on the global robotics map with its plan to launch humanoid robots in 2025. These advanced robots, powered by artificial intelligence, are designed to handle complex tasks across industries such as retail, energy, and fashion. This ambitious project positions Addverb as a competitor to global giants like Tesla, Boston Dynamics, and Agility Robotics.
The move aligns with India’s "Make in India" initiative, showcasing the country's leap into cutting-edge technology on a global stage. India’s Entry into the Humanoid Robotics Market Addverb’s humanoid robots aim to eliminate “3D” jobs—tasks considered Dull, Dirty, and Dangerous—while boosting efficiency and safety. Co-founder and CEO Sangeet Kumar highlighted that these robots will be equipped with state-of-the-art GPU technology, energy-efficient actuators, and dual-arm capabilities.
The company plans to integrate Reliance's Jio AI Platform and 5G services into the robots, enabling autonomous navigation in dynamic environments using advanced Visual and Language Action (VLA) technology. Designed for a Global Impact Addverb’s humanoids are being developed to compete directly with Tesla’s Optimus robots, expected to cost between $20,000-$25,000. While Kumar acknowledged the significant investment required, he expressed confidence in competing with global players, including Chinese firms benefittin.
