IRELAND AM star Muireann O'Connell has shared more adorable gardening tips from her mum as fans call for it to become a "regular segment". The popular presenter has been giving her fans an insight into her mum's vibrant, hydrangea filled garden. Muireann posted a clip of her mum, Marie, sharing some free gardening advice earlier this week and fans flocked to her comment section to ask for more.

And the Limerick beauty has now posted another video on Instagram of Marie sharing an incredible gardening hack. This time around the Virgin Media star's mum showed fans how to best propagate germaniums. Muireann recorded her mum in her home, where she was surrounded by the dozens of other plants she had successfully propagated.

Marie started by taking one of her germaniums and showing Muireann's fans that by snipping a leaf with no flower on it, is key. She explained: "You then take these leaves off and you just put that into water and after abut maybe two or three weeks you see little shoots coming out of it." She added: "You can put a couple of them in a pot with a bit of water and they will start to grow.

" Muireann captioned her post: "Today on Gardening with Marie it’s Geraniums! "Marie also says if it’s a very hot day, she’d take them away from the window and put outside. "They thrive in bright spots away from direct sunlight- like most plants, apparently. I never got that cause isn’t outside direct sunlight but she’s rolling her eyes at me.

"They need some ventilation so open a door if it’s warm but not roasting, open a door and give them some air. "Again, uses her “lift up the pot and if it’s light, give them some water” method." Friends and fans flooded the presenter's comment section with more questions and showed appreciation for Marie.

Liz wrote: "I'm hoping this is a regular segment. I'm not sure if it's her voice or how she makes it seem so simple but I'm off to steal/propagate some flowers." Jeanie commented: "Marie Needs Her Own Gardening Program! Seriously!" Dee said: "Omg! In all my years I never knew they didn’t like being mixed.

" Another fan added: "My mum used to love gardening too bringing back some lovely memories.".
