Vadodara: M S University’s Faculty of Technology and Engineering (FTE) once again witnessed a ruckus over the delay in re-assessment results on Tuesday. Last Friday too students had protested over delay in declaration of re-assessment results for which they had applied 60 days earlier. Faculty dean Prof Dhanesh Patel had assured them that the results would be announced the same day.

On Tuesday, however, students reached Patel’s chamber in large numbers to make a representation. Some even sat on the dean’s desk, raised slogans and chanted Ram Dhun to register their protest . At one point, students folded their hands before the dean, urging him not to play with their careers.

The dean reacted by folding his hands and later declared that the results would be declared by 4pm. He told mediapersons that the results had been delayed due to technical issues with the tabulators. After the results of all students were not declared despite the assurance, they reached the university head office to protest.

“Re-assessment results of 22 students are pending. We are being given hollow promises,” said student leader Parth Pandya. “After the dean’s assurance, results of just four students were declared and that too with grave mistakes.

For instance, a student had applied for re-assessment of his first year second semester exam. The faculty declared the results of the second year, second semester exam. Ironically, the second year student who cleared all second semester exams, has been granted ATKT!” said Pandya, adding that the result of the first year (second semester) has still not been declared.

Other protesting students said that MSU vice-chancellor Professor Vijay Srivastava has not met students for a week, making excuses that he is in a meeting. “What kind of meeting continues for a week?” asked a student.
